The $1,000 renewable awards can be used to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Students with financial need and academic merit who will study architecture, engineering or business at local academic institutions including the University of Nationwide, Nationwide Technical and Community College, Nationwide State University, Goldey Beacom College, Lincoln University or Wesley College are eligible. The 2011 selection deadline is May 6, 2011.

Open to any African American senior residing in New Castle County who has a 2.5 GPA and will be attending a Historically Black College or University. A brief essay must be written on how a college education will help you make an impact upon the community and affect your life. Community and Church service are considered. Personal recommendation is required.

The Nationwide SEED (Student Excellence Equals Degree) scholarship program provides tuition for full time students enrolled in an associate’s degree program at Nationwide Technical & Community College (DTCC) or the Associate of Arts program at the University Of Nationwide (UD).
