Back to Basics and Success Won’t Wait partner to provide 500 children’s books in “Reading is Basic” Title 1 program; Total now approaches 2,000 books!

In a joint venture between Back to Basics Learning Dynamics and the literacy organization Success Won’t Wait, 500 children’s books will be provided to Delaware children this fall through the “Reading is Basic” program. The program is coordinated by Matt McNeill, who is both a 10-year veteran volunteer for Success Won’t Wait and a Back to Basics’ student.

Launched in March 2011, “Reading is Basic” is a collaborative effort to make age-appropriate books available to local Delaware Title I students. Since 2011, almost 2,000 children’s books have been provided through the program.

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, Inc., in a unique partnership with the literacy organization Success Won’t Wait, Inc., will provide over 500 children’s books to children in Delaware’s non-public Title I program, in celebration of National I Love to Read Month. Together, Back to Basics Learning Dynamics and Success Won’t Wait launched the “Reading is Basic Program” in 2011, and since then the program has provided thousands of books to schoolchildren in grades K-8.

Being a positive influence in the community is important to Back to Basics Learning Dynamics’ Director Beverly Stewart, and a core value that she tries to impart to all Back to Basics’ tutoring and private school students. So this weekend, she stepped up to the plate to lead by example. Delaware’s Title 1 students will receive hundreds of children’s books through Back to Basics Learning Dynamics’ “Reading is Basic” program

This fall, Back to Basics Learning Dynamics expanded its’ new “Reading is Basic Program” which was launched in March 2011. In the coming months, Back to Basics will make hundreds of age-appropriate books available to Title I students as part of a joint effort with the Delaware literacy organization Success Won’t Wait. This partnership links together two organizations with a common quest: to eradicate illiteracy in the State of Delaware and to provide the educational tools for success to those who need them most.
