Applications and nominations are still open in Delaware for Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative (NEI), the bank’s signature philanthropic program. Apply by the application deadline of June 1, 2011! Two program components are...Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes: Scholarship deadline is April 30
The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is available to students age 18 and younger who have organized and led a service activity that has clearly benefited other people. The service activity must have been initiated and motivated primarily by the student and cannot have been an assignment for school or work. Additionally, the student must demonstrate a positive spirit and high moral purpose. To be considered, each applicant must be nominated by an adult who has solid knowledge of the service activity and is not a relative.

President’s Volunteer Service Award honors Delaware students age 5-25 for outstanding community service
The PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD honors individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months.
To qualify for the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD, volunteers simply submit a record of their service hours to Youth Service America. Volunteer service hours are not limited to those performed as part of Youth Service America programs.
