Do you know an outstanding student volunteer? Nominations now open for the Governor’s Outstanding Youth Volunteer Service Awards

Nominations for the Governor’s Outstanding Youth Volunteer Service Awards are now being accepted by the State Office of Volunteerism. The awards honor individuals, school organizations and community groups who are 18 and younger, and were enrolled in an elementary, middle, high school or home school, at the time of their service. Volunteer efforts must have been performed during 2013.

Delaware education majors: Apply now for the Christopher K. Smith Memorial Future Teacher Scholarship

The Christopher K. Smith Memorial Future Teacher Scholarships are $4,000 scholarships, considered each spring for outstanding Delaware public school seniors who are enrolled in a college of education and who plan to pursue a career in education. These scholarships are administered by the DSEA Scholarship Task Force. They are given in memory of Christopher K. Smith, a social studies teacher in the Colonial School District, advocate for students and members and NEA director for Delaware.
