Radio Disney Hero for Change award application deadline is March 24

Radio Disney is offering young change-makers the chance to be a Hero for Change. Winners receive a $500 award, plus a chance to meet other amazing young people at the Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles this April.

Young heroes, ages 5-18, who live in select Radio Disney communities and are creating positive change through service, are eligible to apply by midnight on March 24, 2013. Visit

Kids Who Give contest honors kids 7 to 17 who are community-service minded; Deadline September 30

Kids Who Give honors young people with a passion for making the world better. Whether they’re doing community service, raising money for worthy causes or helping others in need, this contest celebrates volunteerism among America’s youth.

The contest is open to youth who are US residents, between the ages of 7 and 17. Deadline is September 30.

Quarterly first, second and third place winners receive up to $3,500 for their charity, and they’ll be in the running for the $10,000 grand prize, awarded in early 2013.

10 Womenetics Scholarships from $1500 to $5000 each! Open to both male and female college students; Deadline July 27

These scholarships are for male and female undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be US citizens or legal US residents. Students who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.

To apply for these scholarships, applicants must submit an essay on a given topic related to the following theme: “Creating Effective Leadership for the 21st Century: Popular Culture and Positive Role Models for Women and Girls,” in correlation with a half-day conference presented by Womenetics.
