What is the Stafford Loan Forgiveness Program for Teachers?

stafford-loan-logoThe Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program is intended to encourage individuals to enter and continue in the teaching profession. Under this program, individuals who teach full-time for five consecutive, complete academic years in certain elementary and secondary schools that serve low-income families and meet other qualifications, may be eligible for forgiveness.

A “Book Tree” decorates the lobby of Back to Basics Learning Dynamics in Wilmington, Delaware. The books are destined for Delaware children in need this holiday season!

Since 2011, the Back to Basics “Reading is Basic” program has donated books to Title I students throughout New Castle and Kent Counties. This holiday season, the total number of books surpassed 3,000 provided to children in grades K-8.

The Reading is Basic Program was conceived in response to literacy statistics that rank access to reading materials as one of the most important predictors of a child’s future reading success.
