Summer Learning Day is fast approaching. Why summer learning is essential for kids and teens!

Summer Learning Options in Wilmington, DelawareDid you know? Over the course of the summer, kids can lose up to two to three months of the skills they learned in the classroom that year. And, according to the National Summer Learning Association, “…a growing body of evidence shows that summer is far from a time to recharge for many families. Instead, it’s a time of loss and lack, a time of struggle and stress. With half of all public school children today living in low-income households, the reality is that summer is actually no vacation at all.”

This year, National Summer Learning Day will take place on July 12 – so, now is the time to start planning a summer of learning and fun!

National Summer Learning Day is a national advocacy day aimed at elevating the importance of keeping kids learning, safe and healthy every summer, ensuring they return to school in the fall ready to succeed in the year.

Your participation sends a powerful message across the nation that summers matter and offers an opportunity to showcase how summers can make a life-changing difference in the lives of young people. For more information, visit the National Summer Learning Association.
