Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.
This month, join 1,000+ students, educators, and government leaders from across the nation and around the world at Educate. Ignite. Transform., the 27th Annual National Service-Learning Conference. The Conferece, held this year in Minneapolis will take place on March 30 – April 2, 2016. This intergenerational event provides attendees with the tools, resources, ideas, and support to return home to improve their practice, their schools, and their communities.
And, admission has been extended to 3/18, giving you just enough time to get to the conference… and change the world.
So, how do you prepare students with the skills they need to change the world?
- You engage them in complex, meaningful projects that require sustained engagement, collaboration, research, management of resources, and the development of a product or service.
- You bring service-learning into your classroom.
- You show them that they are not alone — that thousands of young people across this country and around the world are making real change at the local, national, and global level.
- You bring them to the largest gathering of youth and adults committed to changing the world with young people, for all people – the 27th Annual National Service-Learning Conference.
