EDUCATIONAL ENTREPRENEUR WINS DELAWARE SMALL BUSINESSPERSON OF THE YEAR
    Contact: Beverly Stewart, M.Ed. 302-594-0754

Wilmington, Delaware -- Educational entrepreneur and founder of Delaware’s largest independent full-service educational facility, Beverly Stewart, M.Ed. was recently announced as the winner of the Delaware Small Business Administration (SBA) 2004 “Small Businessperson of the Year Award.” According to the SBA , the Small Businessperson of the Year “is the most prestigious of all SBA awards. It is presented to the entrepreneur who has developed an outstanding growing business.”

“It is a tremendous honor to receive the Small Businessperson of the Year Award from the SBA,” says Stewart. “This award not only recognizes the hard work it takes to build a successful business here in Delaware, but also acknowledges the importance of education as a profession.”

The Small Businessperson of the Year Award was open to all nominees residing and employed in the United States. Nominees were evaluated based on a firm’s staying power as evidenced by a history of established business, increase in sales and continued growth, current and past financial reports, innovativeness of product or service, response to adversity and contributions of the nominee to the community. Biographies, business profiles, and financial statements were all used to determine the most outstanding nominee in the state.

Stewart’s firm Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, Inc. is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, and for 19 years has fulfilled the diverse educational needs of almost 8,000 students in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware region. Stewart employs over 100 professional, degreed tutors and instructors, and offers one-on-one instruction in over 50 subjects for students aged 3-103.

The firm also operates a separate Corporate Division, which offers corporate education and professional development to adults in subjects such as public speaking, English as a Second Language, and over a dozen foreign languages. Back to Basics’ instructors travel to each student’s home, office, school, or daycare provider, seven days a week.
