Company Overview Since 1985, Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, Inc. has served the educational needs of over 9,500 students in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Back to Basics is the area leader in one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction for pre-K through college-age students and older adults in over 50 subjects. Attention to detail and a careful matching of a student's needs and learning style with a tutor's teaching style differentiates Back to Basics from many of the national tutoring chains. The company philosophy says that by pairing a student with a one-on-one tutor you build trust, plus you see better grades and increased confidence. As the company has grown, some small group instruction has been added where applicable. For example, some selected SAT preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), and study skills classes utilize a small group setting. And Back to Basics is contracted by many area schools for after-school group tutoring programs, as well as one-on-one tutoring during school hours. Back to Basics instructs in the most comprehensive range of subjects found anywhere. Traditional subjects like English, reading, math and science are the fundamentals, but the company also offers instruction in areas such as computer science, art, college-level courses, and foreign languages. In addition, Back to Basics serves learning disabled, hearing and visually impaired, ADHD, homebound and home schooled students. The Wilmington, Delaware based company was founded by Beverly Stewart. Stewart holds a Master's Degree in Special Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and has a background in both psychology and testing. Stewart is often called upon as an education consultant and has been featured in magazines and on radio and television as an education expert. |
