Undergraduate and Graduate Professional Incentive Programs for Teachers in Delaware

TeacherIf you plan for a career in education, the Delaware Teacher Corps may be an option to help you fund your education.

To be eligible for the program, you must be a full-time student enrolled at a Delaware public college in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to teacher certification in a critical need area, as defined by the Delaware Department of Education, or a high school senior ranking in upper half of the class with a combined score of 1,570 on the SAT. All applicants must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA. Awards may be prorated for students enrolled part-time.

First preference is given to students who intend to teach middle and high school math and science. Second priority is given to students who intend to teach special education in a content area.

How the program works / loan forgiveness

The loan is not to exceed cost of tuition. It is renewable for up to three additional years. Loan forgiveness provision is at a rate of one year of teaching in a Delaware public school for one year of loan.

You may also need to submit additional documents including an unofficial transcript, SAT scores, FAFSA, and updated college enrollment information by the scholarship deadline.
