Education spotlight on reading and phonics tutor Carol Protack

Carol Protack is our featured tutor for September and has been part of Back to Basics for over 19 years. She is Elementary Ed certified in DE, NJ and PA. Her subject areas include basic math, English, science, phonics, reading and social studies. Carol also instructs in daycare training for college and adult level students.

When Carol isn’t teaching, she is a lead instructor for New Castle 100 Archers. She is a promoter of archery, as well, at Iron Hill Museum. Carol also shoots a vintage rifle nationally. She is a Mary Kay consultant, too, and enjoys demonstrating make up techniques and being involved with Jr. Miss Delaware in this capacity.

Carol is originally from PA but currently resides in Newark. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ted and their dog, Ginger. Carol says the most rewarding experience is when “a student has an Ah-ha” moment.”

For 25 years, Back to Basics has been recognized as the area’s undisputed leader in one-on-one tutoring. In addition, the firm offers a unique Delaware private school for grades K-12 and a Private Business and Trade School for adults. Back to Basics is the 2010 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
